Only got 2 and a half stars on my first RC & Pib ep but no one is telling me what is wrong =(

I can't speak for everyone, but for everyone in the newgrounds community who is in college, finals are either this week or last depending on the school - so I can imagine a bunch of people are a bit busy to continue watching videos here, let alone writing detailed reviews. For me personally, the last month I have taken a break from this site to concentrate on passing college, so in terms of reviews I think this video just came out at a bad time when no one really had time to review it. And, since only around 20% of the people who watched your video are your fans, for most people the video probably got lost in the flood of new content on Newgrounds. I only just had time to watch your video today, and only because all of my finals that were supposed to be next week were cancelled due to poor scheduling. Well, anyways, here are some of my thoughts on it:

-There's a weird green bar on the right side of the video throughout almost the whole thing. Weird.

-The intro is 1/4 of the length of the video. That's a bit long to sit through for such a short film. Again, that's why I suggested before that you may want to put the intro at the end, and possibly combine some credits with it, too. You could always add in some bonus content after for people who sit through the whole thing.

-The jokes were hilarious, but the voice acting was a little bit flat. Not terribly, but mainly the part where Pib gets mad at RC and yells at her over the pet rock. I'd recommend watching: https://youtu.be/I8rhVTkeRZ8 for tips on how to nail the screaming part. The abridged version is, don't hold back - yell like you want the neighbors to call the cops on you.

-The actual drawings - backgrounds, characters, etc. - is I think the main reason your ratings aren't higher. They're good but not great. Don't get me wrong, I think from where you started off at, you've made massive improvements. But, sadly, you're competing with the entire newgrounds community. My best recommendation for this is just to find someone's style you like, and try to re-draw their character or scenery. When you do this, you will notice a lot of details they put in that make the drawings really come to life and stand out from the other ones. Then find another artist and repeat. The end goal isn't to copy their style exactly for your own videos, but rather to take away one or two pieces of information to help improve your own art, and to get some more practice in.

When I first started drawing, let me tell you, it was really bad - way worse than where you started out at. I quit, moved on with my life, and only recently picked it up again as a hobby when I was inspired by people like you who were making their own things. I spent about 4 hours drawing one character from Zelda, and it came out nothing like the original. I looked at my drawing, compared it to the original, and tried to pick out what I did wrong - the chin was off, the eyes were misaligned, the clothing was crooked, etc. Then I moved onto another character. I did this once or twice a week for fun, copying the styles from a lot of different franchises and artists I admired. By the end of the year, my artwork had massively improved. Whenever I show my friends my art, they can't believe how good I am for just doing it as a hobby, and talk about how their art is terrible and they wished they had my talent. But the thing is, it's not about talent. It's about practice. Sure, talent helps, but it means nothing if you don't practice or just continue to draw the same things without improving. Even with all that practice, I still have a lot of room to improve as well.

I think your work is really decent. It's funny, it's clean, and I'd give it a solid 3 stars. This one though, I gave 4 stars for the Rocky jokes. I can see you put a lot of effort into your cartoon, so I hope you don't get discouraged because it got a lower rating than you were hoping for. No one learns to makes great stuff overnight, but just try to practice other people's styles every now and then, and then ask yourself: what's the one thing I want to try to improve in my next video that I didn't like about my last video? And try to concentrate on that.

Keep in mind too, that you are an inspiration for a lot of people. I've never gotten around to putting up any of my artwork or making a full-length cartoon; I always have some sort of excuse about why it's not good enough or I don't have time or I never get around to finishing it. So, to see someone like you putting up your finished stuff regularly, even though it isn't perfect or as high quality as some other people's, and to watch how you improve over time, is really encouraging. Keep it up, and try not to get discouraged.

That's some really helpful advice and thank you. Im not to sure about the green bar on the side ether. I think its a resolution problem. Ill look into fixing it before next Ep. Thank you for taking the time to review it for me =)
